There are two types of materials for high voltage pulse capacitors: one is film type and the other is ceramic type.

Compared with film capacitors, ceramic capacitors have higher voltage characteristics. The advantage of film capacitors is that their capacitance is higher than that of ceramic capacitors.

The commonly used pulse ceramic capacitor is PC ceramic. This ceramic capacitor with a dielectric constant of 400 can work at -55 degrees to +125 degrees. The temperature change rate is less than 5%. It has strong voltage characteristics and pulse characteristics. Currently, most optoelectronic military equipment and electromagnetic pulse military equipment use PC materials. Its pulse use time is more than 1 million times.

Of course, there are also experimental grade pulse capacitors. Many scientific research institutions use N4700 ceramic materials as pulse capacitors. This material can also meet the needs of users to a certain extent, but if a large number of equipment is used, the service life is insufficient. In the capacitor industry, the service life of this product is about 3000 to 50000 pulses.

The dielectric constant of N4700 medium is between 1800 and 2000. The temperature range is between -25 degrees and +85 degrees, and the temperature change rate is about 20%.

Therefore, in the field of ceramic capacitors, PC pulse dielectric is the real pulse capacitor.

Three advantages of PC pulse capacitors

1. Pulse voltage: PC pulse capacitors have extremely high voltage bearing capacity, especially pulse high voltage bearing capacity, which is unmatched by other capacitors. Generally, a 50KV pulse capacitor can withstand a pulse voltage of 80KV at MAX. This is also rare in the field of high voltage ceramic capacitors;

2. High and low temperature characteristics: PC capacitors can be used in relatively low temperature environments, such as minus 50 degrees, and can also be used in high temperature environments, such as high temperature 125 degrees;

3. Pulse use time: PC capacitors have high reliability and can work for a long time within the rated voltage. Its pulse use time is more than 1 million times.

Pulse capacitor function

Due to the ultra high reliability of PC pulse capacitors, this type of pulse capacitor can be used in most high-tech military equipment, such as laser (photoelectric) weapons, electromagnetic guns, electromagnetic wave weapons, electronic interference, radar equipment, communication transmission, etc. It also has good applications in some high-end civilian markets, such as laser cutting and other mechanical fields.

The above is the knowledge about pulse capacitors. I believe that you will understand it very well after reading it. It has its advantages and functions, and you will definitely use it in the future.
