Among the many types of capacitors, film capacitors are numerous. CBB capacitors are the most familiar and frequently used in electronic products. Besides CBB film capacitors, CL capacitors are also widely used.
CL capacitors are capacitors made by sandwiching a polyester film as the dielectric between metal foil electrodes, using inductive or non-inductive winding into a cylindrical or flat cylindrical structure, and then encapsulating it with epoxy resin. They are called polyester film capacitors, also known as polyester capacitors. Commonly used CL capacitors in daily life include CL21 capacitors, CL21X capacitors, and CL20 capacitors.
CL21 Capacitor (MEF)
CL21 capacitors, also known as metallized polyethylene film capacitors, are metal capacitors or plastic capacitors. They use a metallized polyester film as the dielectric and a metal vapor-deposited layer as the electrode, formed into a flat cylindrical structure through non-inductive winding.
Main features: Good appearance consistency, large capacitance, small size, low loss, high insulation, good self-healing properties, and long service life. Suitable for filtering and noise reduction of DC and VHF signals.
CL21X Capacitor (MEM)
CL21X capacitors, also known as miniature metallized polyethylene film capacitors or mini plastic capacitors, use an ultra-thin metallized polyester film as the dielectric and a metal vapor-deposited layer as the electrode, formed into a flat cylindrical structure through non-inductive winding.
Main features: Small size, large capacitance, good self-healing properties, and long service life. Suitable for DC blocking, bypassing, coupling, and filtering circuits in color TVs, program-controlled exchanges, and precision electronic instruments.
CL20 Capacitors
CL20 capacitors use a metallized polyester film as the dielectric and a vacuum-evaporated metal layer as the electrode. They are wrapped with PET tape and encapsulated at both ends with flame-retardant epoxy resin, forming a cylindrical or elliptical cylindrical structure.
Main features: Excellent electrical performance, small size, high temperature resistance, high reliability, and good self-healing properties. Suitable for DC and low-amplitude pulse applications, such as low-frequency filtering, DC blocking, and bypassing.
