What are the nine commonly used capacitors?

一、Tantalum Capacitor

Tantalum capacitor is a product with small volume and large capacitance among capacitors. It was first successfully developed by Bell Laboratories in the United States in 1956. It has excellent performance. Tantalum capacitors come in a variety of shapes and are manufactured as small and chip components suitable for surface mounting. Tantalum capacitors are not only used in military communications, aerospace and other fields, but also widely used in industrial control, video equipment, communication instruments and other products.

二、Lamp capacitor

Lamp capacitors are made of high-purity electronic aluminum foil, rolled with capacitor paper and alumina as the medium, non-solid electrolyte, metal shell, double-welded tab type and lead-type terminal, used for single-phase AC motors (50Hz or 60Hz) start, so that the motor can obtain higher torque at a lower starting current. It has the characteristics of excellent electrical performance, stable and reliable quality.

三、MKPH Capacitor

Polypropylene film PPMhMKPh with special metallized composition developed by Ducatienergia, it aims to support self-healing properties and reduce dielectric loss. Compared with other paper medium and gas-insulated capacitors, PPMh capacitors have become a new target for power factor compensation systems due to their superior overload capacity and long service life.

四、PEI Capacitor

PEI capacitors use two pieces of metal foil as electrodes, sandwiched in a very thin insulating medium, rolled into a cylindrical or flat cylindrical core, and the medium is polyester.Polyester film capacitors, polyester capacitors have high dielectric constant, small size, large capacity, good stability, and are suitable for bypass capacitors.

五、SMD Tantalum Capacitor

SMD tantalum capacitors are characterized by long service life. High temperature resistance, high accuracy, excellent performance in high frequency filtering and wave changing, but the capacity is small, the price is more expensive than aluminum capacitors, and the ability to withstand voltage and current is relatively weak. It is used in small-capacity low-frequency filter circuits.

六、SMD Aluminum Capacitor

Compared with ceramic capacitors, chip tantalum capacitors have capacitance and withstand voltage marks on their surface, and their surface colors are usually yellow and black. For example, 100-16 means that the capacity is 100μF and the withstand voltage is 16V. Chip-type aluminum electrolytic capacitors have a larger capacity than chip-type tantalum capacitors. They are more common in graphics cards, with a capacity between 300μF and 1500μF. They are mainly used for filtering and stabilizing current at low frequencies.

七、Chip Ceramic Capacitors

SMD ceramic capacitors are non-polar and have a small capacity (PF grade). Generally, they can withstand high temperature and voltage, and are often used for high-frequency filtering. Ceramic capacitors look a bit like chip resistors (so sometimes we also call them "chip capacitors"), but there is no number on the chip capacitor that represents the capacity.

八、Self-healing shunt capacitor

In layman's terms, self-healing shunt capacitors are capacitors in which when the insulating medium of the capacitor is broken down, the insulating medium returns to the insulating state due to thermal melting. However, the capacitance will decrease with the increase of the number of breakdowns, and the loss value will increase. Typical capacitors are CBB series and CBL series.

九、Electrolytic Capacitor

Electrolytic capacitors have electrolyte materials that store charges inside, which are divided into positive and negative polarities, similar to batteries, and cannot be reversed. The positive electrode is a metal substrate with an oxide film, and the negative electrode is connected to the electrolyte (solid and non-solid) through a metal plate.
