When selecting a varistor, full consideration must be given to the actual operating environment of the electronic ballast and meet the safety requirements of the circuit. The selected varistor voltage is high and the residual voltage is high (under the same peak current conditions). The varistors of the same type are subjected to a large peak current and the residual voltage will increase. For example, a series of varistors with Ф7, Ф10, or Ф14 and other varistor through-flow test conditions, the result is that for different varistor varistors, it can withstand the same inrush current.

 

Generally, for a varistor that uses the same recipe, the large diameter of the chip, the large peak current that the varistor can withstand, and the corresponding residual pressure will increase, but the increase is much lower The increase in traffic flow. Therefore, the type selection should be based on the pressure level of the line, the external surge voltage may be generated, as much as possible choose to pass a relatively large varistor, in order to ensure the long-term continuity of the normal work of the line.
