The value of Y capacitor in small appliances

In small appliances, the Y capacitor is one of the indispensable capacitors. The Y capacitor is used for common mode filtering. It is connected between L to ground or N to ground to filter out common mode signals from L to ground or N to ground. Y capacitors are usually used symmetrically, mainly for bypass, decoupling, filtering, and energy storage.

The Y capacitor is divided into Y1, Y2, Y3, and Y4:

1. Y1 rated voltage ≤500VAC, peak voltage equal to 8 kV, experimental voltage 4000VAC;

2. Y2 rated voltage ≥150VAC, ≤500VAC, peak voltage is equal to 5 kV, experimental voltage is 1500VAC;

3. Y3 high voltage resistance n / a, has been replaced;

4. Y4 high voltage resistance is greater than 2.5 kV;

In domestic air conditioners, the Y capacitor in the filter circuit can be selected according to the power of the switching power supply and the size of the load. It can also be calculated according to the formula = L / 2π * C. Procurement of safety capacitors is guaranteed to avoid problems.
