    Quartz crystals cannot be used in RC sinusoidal oscillation circuits. Because the crystal impedance is close to zero when the quartz crystal oscillator is at the series resonance point, the resonant frequency of the LC parallel circuit is close to the inherent resonant frequency of the quartz crystal, and the circuit can produce stable oscillation. So quartz crystals can't be used in RC sinusoidal oscillation circuits.
