Method for preventing cracks in ceramic capacitors

It is well known that the practical range of ceramic capacitors is not only for automotive electronic equipment, but also for electronic equipment that is installed under harsh outdoor conditions. The crack in the ceramic capacitor is caused by the fact that the crack in the capacitor itself is more serious than the crack in the weld. When the crack destroys the external electrode, the dielectric breakdown can occur. Ceramic capacitor cracks have a common form. After the terminal electrodes are tightly bonded by the solder, the flexural stress concentrates on the soldered parts of the terminal electrodes, so that cracks occur at the end of the electrode tip, and the copper element continues to expand forward.

 

Inaccurate processing of the PCB after the device components will cause cracks in the capacitor components. In order to achieve higher efficiency in the era of cost, ceramic capacitors are all installed on a long continuation board of the equipment line at one time, and then cut into boards. Assuming that the board is manually slit, rather than mechanically cutting or applying a specific object to break, the flexural stress can cause cracks in the capacitive element.
