How to solve the problem of short circuit of safety capacitor

When using capacitors, we should encounter many problems, such as capacitor leakage, open capacitance, capacitor breakdown, capacitor casing expansion, etc. There is also a very important thing that we need to know in advance is the safety capacitor short circuit. So how do we deal with this situation?

When checking and handling the faulty capacitor, the capacitor switch and the two side knives should be pulled apart, and the capacitor group can be discharged after being discharged. After the discharge capacitor group is discharged by the discharge resistor, an artificial discharge should be performed because part of the residual charge is not discharged at one time. When discharging, first connect the grounding terminal, and then use the insulating rod to discharge the safety capacitor several times until there is no spark and no discharge sound, then fix the grounding wire. However, due to the faulty safety capacitor, the wiring may be poorly connected. If the internal charge is broken or fused, etc., so that some of the charge is still not exhausted, wear insulated gloves before the inspection, short-circuit the capacitor with a short-circuit and then remove it.

After the switch is short-circuited, be careful not to force the power transmission. The protection action must be checked. Check and judge the sequence according to the action. Switch the current transformer to check whether the capacitor is cracked, severely heated, whether the drum belly is overheated or melted, etc. Whether there is any trace of discharge, if there is no such situation, the short circuit of the switch is caused by the voltage fluctuation of the busbar caused by the fault of the branch. After the inspection, the power can be sent. Otherwise, the full-scale power-on test and the electromagnetic induction test should be further tested. Check the failure of the safety capacitors and remove the safety capacitors one by one. Check the test and do not send power before the cause is found.
