As the frequency applied across the capacitor increases, the loss of the capacitor increases, the capacity decreases, and the withstand voltage decreases. The film capacitors we produce will be tested for frequency characteristics before they are sold. Here is our test.
Film capacitor operating frequency characteristics test:
1. Select a voltage source connected to the adjustable frequency, the temperature sensor on the rugged capacitor.
2. Turn on the adjustable frequency voltage source, schedule it to a suitable voltage value, schedule it to the lowest frequency, and observe the waveform with a storage oscilloscope.
3. Raise the frequency up to 30khz for 10 minutes and record the temperature value. Then increase it by 5khz for 10 minutes and record the temperature value.
4. Whenever it reaches 80khz, increase it by 1khz. Hold it for 10 minutes and record the temperature value until the maximum working temperature of the capacitor is reached. Stop the test.
