The failure mode of the varistor is usually short circuited. In order to prevent the failure of the varistor from failure to cause a short circuit of the power supply, a temperature safety tube or a thermal detachment mechanism can be connected in each varistor. The temperature safety pipe should have a good thermal coupling with the varistor. When the varistor failure (high impedance short circuit), the heat produced by it makes the temperature safety pipe fuse, so that the failure pressure sensitive resistor is separated from the circuit, and the safety of the equipment is ensured.
