Capacitive Level Gauge Media Selection Reference

Capacitance level gauges are used in power, metallurgy, chemical, food, pharmaceutical and other industries as well as in the measurement of liquid level, material level, and material level in such places as sewage treatment, boiler steam drums, and coal powder packets. The product is based on the capacitive sensing principle, which causes changes in the capacitance when the height of the measuring electrode impregnated with the measured medium is changed. It can convert all kinds of level and liquid medium height changes into standard current signals and transmit them remotely to the operation control room for secondary instrument or computer device to display, alarm or automatically control. Its good structure and installation method can be applied to high temperature, high pressure, strong corrosion, easy crystallization, anti-blockage, antifreeze and solid powder, granular materials.

Capacitive level gauge media selection reference:

1. Capacitance level sensors for measuring non-conductive liquids. When used for relatively dilute non-conductive liquids (such as light oil, etc.), a metal electrode can be used. A metallic tube is externally sheathed and insulated from each other. Measured medium for the intermediate insulating material to form a coaxial sleeve capacitor.

2. A capacitive level sensor for measuring conductive liquid, a container (regular) and a liquid as one electrode of a capacitor, an inserted metal electrode as another electrode, an insulating sleeve as an intermediate medium, and the three constituting a cylindrical capacitor. When the vessel is non-conductive, a grounding electrode must be added. The lower end of the vessel is immersed to the bottom of the vessel under test. The upper end has a reliable conductive connection with the mounting flange so that one of the two electrodes is connected to the ground and the instrument ground. Ensure the meter is measuring normally.

3. When measuring the powdery non-conductive solid material level and viscous non-conductive liquid level, the metal electrode can be directly inserted into the center of the cylindrical container and the instrument ground wire is connected to the container. The container is used as the external electrode. Or the liquid constitutes a cylindrical capacitor as an insulating medium.

Therefore, the appropriate level gauge should be selected according to the actual situation on site, that is, the properties of the measured medium (conductive properties, viscosity), container type (regular/irregular metal cans, regular/irregular non-metallic cans).
