Capacitive level gauges are suitable for liquid level measurement in electric power, metallurgy, chemical industry, food, brewing, pharmaceuticals, sewage treatment, boiler drums, etc. Since the capacitance level detection is basically not affected by changes in process conditions. The buoyancy-type, differential-pressure, and isotope-type liquidometers are all related to the severity of the medium in the test. The heavy changes in the gas-liquid medium will cause additional errors in the detection results. This is why capacitive level gauges are more universally applicable than other types of level gauges.

Capacitance Level Meter Capacitor Effect:

The principle of liquid level measurement is that the probe wire and the conductive liquid form a capacitor, in which the metal core of the probe wire is a pole of the capacitor, the conductive liquid is the other electrode of the capacitor, and the middle is a highly stable PPR or polyvinyl fluoride. That is, the insulator outer layer of the probe wire serves as a medium between the two layers. With the change of the liquid level, the area of the liquid enclosing the probe wire is changed, and the relative area of the two electrodes constituting the capacitor is changed, resulting in a change in capacitance.
