What is a DC capacitor:

DC capacitors are not suitable for AC power, but can be used for AC voltage circuits with pulse or AC components.

Regardless of the circuit used, the dc voltage or AC voltage rms or the peak value of the pulse current continuously applied to the capacitor must not exceed the rated voltage of the capacitor.

What is an AC capacitor:

The AC capacitor is a capacitor designed primarily for power frequency AC voltages and can be used in AC power.

The AC capacitor can be used in a DC power supply with the same voltage as the capacitor's rated voltage AC rms value.

The AC AC safety capacitor consists of three layers:

1. Used on AC circuits

2. Compliance with safety test specifications
