A practical method to judge the quality of ceramic capacitors

The method of short-circuiting the ceramic capacitor is to measure its DC resistance with R×1K block of the multimeter. If the resistance between the two ends of the ceramic capacitor is infinite (ie,), or more than a few hundred kilohms, it means that the capacitor is not short-circuited inside. If the resistance is small (a few ohms to several thousand ohms), the capacitor has been short-circuited and cannot be used.

 

For the internal non-short-circuited ceramic capacitor, use the following method to determine if it is short-circuited, find a test pencil with normal performance, plug in the hole of the live wire of the 220V AC power socket, and apply a foot of the ceramic capacitor to the other hand. One foot to touch the tail of the test pencil (that is, the handshake part during the normal test). If the neon lamp in the test pencil is lit, it indicates that the capacitor has no internal short circuit, and the performance is good; if the neon lamp is not bright, it is to be tested. Ceramic capacitors have been broken inside. When testing with this method, do not wear gloves with hands holding the capacitor's capacitor pins, otherwise the blister bubble will not shine. The greater the capacitance of the measured capacitor, the brighter the bubble. In this way, other small-capacity capacitors can also be tested.
