1. Caused by high temperature.

Generally, the maximum temperature resistance of CBB capacitors encapsulated with epoxy resin is 105℃, while the maximum temperature resistance of CBB capacitors encapsulated with plastic shell is 110℃.

However, in order to compete on price, some polypropylene film capacitors choose materials that are not resistant to high temperatures. Their maximum temperature resistance is only 85°C. If the entire circuit has poor heat dissipation, or there are electronic components with large heat dissipation next to the polypropylene film capacitor, the polypropylene film capacitor may explode due to excessive temperature.

2. Excessive voltage causes polypropylene film capacitor to explode.

When selecting polypropylene film capacitors, you must pay attention to their rated voltage and operating voltage. The rated voltage of the selected film capacitor is 250V, but the operating voltage is above 275V. The film capacitor will also explode when working under this voltage.

3. Bought low quality polypropylene film capacitors.

The price war for polypropylene film capacitors is still very cruel. In order to grab customers who only recognize unit price with lower unit prices, many capacitor manufacturers use the worst materials, or even obsolete film materials, and reduce many production processes. It is true that the cost of this type of capacitor is extremely low, but the quality is also very poor.

Generally, low-quality polypropylene film capacitors dare not print their brands, that is, they choose neutral printing. When choosing polypropylene film capacitors, we recommend that you try to choose film capacitors with printed brands, as the quality is generally more guaranteed.
