What are the test equipment for the fast burst group?

The transient pulse group generator, also known as the group pulse generator, is used to simulate the interference from relays, contactors, etc. when switching inductive loads, by combining the power lines, control lines and signal lines of the test table. Thereby determining the anti-electromagnetic interference capability of the test table.

The main components of the test generator include: high voltage power supply, charging resistor, energy storage capacitor, arrester, pulse duration forming resistor, impedance matching resistor and DC blocking capacitor. The generator should have the ability to operate under short circuit conditions. In order to make the test results produced by various test generators comparable to each other, the basic characteristics of the generator are specified in the test standards such as: open circuit output voltage, maximum, polarity, output type, dynamic source impedance, occurrence DC blocking capacitor inside the device, pulse repetition frequency, etc.

In order to enable the test voltage to be applied to the power input of the test meter in an asymmetric state, the coupling/decoupling network of the AC/DC main power line should be used. But some group pulse generators are designed. The power line coupling line has been taken into account, so there is no need to set up a coupling circuit when testing.

Tests on I/O lines (data lines/signal lines) should use capacitive coupling clips to enable fast transients without any connections to the line terminals, the shield of the cable, or any other part of the test table. The burst is coupled to the line under test. If a coupling/decoupling network cannot be used, the coupling clip can also be used for AC/DC power lines.
