The difference between the X capacitor and the Y capacitor

There is no essential difference between the function of X capacitor and Y capacitor. The difference is their connection. It can be divided into two points:

1. Difference is that the X capacitor is not grounded, and the Y capacitor must have a ground wire.

2. Most X capacitors are square box shaped, and Y capacitors are round ceramic.

More difference is that the X capacitor is connected to both ends of the input line to eliminate differential mode interference, and the Y capacitor is connected between the input line and the ground wire to eliminate common mode interference. The X capacitor adopts the square high voltage CBB capacitor of the plastic seal, and the CBB capacitor not only has better electrical performance, but also can effectively reduce the influence of high frequency pulse on the switching power supply. Y capacitors are often used in high pressure porcelain. The Y type capacitance is connected between the phase line and the ground wire. In order not to exceed the allowable leakage values of the earth lines defined by the relevant safety standards, the values of these capacitors are about nF. Generally, the Y capacitor should be connected to the wire with larger noise disturbance. Y1 is a double insulated Y capacitor. It is used to connect the one or two side.Y2. It belongs to the basic single insulated Y capacitor. It is used to protect the earth from the primary side, that is, the FG line.

The peak pulse voltage allowed in the safety grade of the safety gauge: the X capacitor is divided into X1, X2, X3, and the main difference lies in that the high pressure of A. X1 is greater than 2.5 kV, less than 4 kV; B. X2 is less than equal to 2.5 kV; the capacitance of C. is less than equal to 1.2. Y1 high pressure is greater than 8 kV; B. Y2 high pressure is greater than 5 kV; C. Y3 high pressure n/a; D. Y4 high pressure is greater than 2.5 kV.

There is no essential difference between the function of X capacitor and Y capacitor, the difference is that their joint.X capacitance is not grounded; the Y capacitance must have grounding wire, the X capacitor is square box; the Y capacitor is wafer ceramic, and the X capacitor is used to eliminate the differential mode interference at both ends of the input line; Y capacitance is connected between the input line and the ground line, which is used to eliminate common mode interference.
