At the same time, China's strategic planning and active advocacy of new energy technologies has also become a booster for the rapid development of supercapacitors. In April 2016, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued the Industrial Strong Base 2016 Special Action Implementation Plan. The program stated that it will focus on supporting the development of supercapacitors in the core infrastructure parts field. The large cost investment has made it difficult for electric vehicle companies to buy:

 

Supercapacitors are more complementary to power batteries: they greatly increase the peak output capability of the system or reduce the frequency of short-time high-current discharge of the power battery in a small increase in cost. It has only been adopted on some buses, and has not been industrialized in the entire automotive industry, especially in the passenger vehicle sector. Changan Automobile once said that the supercapacitor mileage has not reached the company's expected standard and will not be used. The price is relatively high. The charging time is only enough for an electric car to drive for several kilometers. The price of energy storage products per kWh is nearly 10 times that of the battery, and the actual operation cost will be large. This problem is a bottleneck in which supercapacitors are difficult to promote and use alone in electric vehicle applications.

 

The prospect of joint application with batteries is unknown:

 

Obviously, compared to batteries, energy density is not the long term of supercapacitors, and many new technologies, such as the application of new materials such as graphene to increase the energy density of the research direction of industrialization will take time. At present, supercapacitors and batteries are used in combination in new energy vehicles to improve the power performance and cycle life of batteries when used alone, which is being favored by the industry. Moreover, the combined application of the two energy storage devices will certainly bring more complicated control systems, which is a big test for the overall stability of the automotive system. At present, internationally renowned auto parts suppliers such as Bosch and Dalu are actively expanding this technology. Whether the large-scale application in passenger cars can be broken in the future is still unknown.

 

Development can be expected in the future:

 

Although the attitude of new energy vehicles to supercapacitors is like, people who are always ready for high-speed travel have the same attention to spare tires. But the spare tire that doesn't want to turn positive is not a good spare tire. Jixing Technology took the big handwriting and long-term strategy and walked on the road of turning positive, which attracted the local counterparts to be amazed. The company has been in contact with Yutong Bus since 2012, and realized the small-volume application of its capacitor products on Yutong Bus at the end of 2013.
