Precautions for using positive temperature coefficient

Thermistors are divided into positive temperature coefficient (PTC) and negative temperature coefficient (NTC) according to different temperature coefficients. The positive temperature coefficient has a higher resistance value at higher temperatures, and the negative temperature coefficient has a lower resistance value at higher temperatures.

Features of thermistors:

1. High sensitivity;

2. Wide operating temperature range;

3. Small size;

4. Easy to use;

5. Easy to process into complex shapes, can be produced in large quantities;

6. Good stability and strong overload capacity.

In order to avoid PTC thermistor failure, short circuit, burnout and other accidents, special attention should be paid to the following when using the PTC thermistor:

1. Do not use the test PTC thermistor in oil or water or flammable and explosive gas;

2. Do not use the test PTC thermistor under conditions exceeding "operating current" or "operating voltage".

When using the positive temperature coefficient, pay attention to the above two points to avoid problems.
