How to measure the safety of ceramic capacitors?

1. The fixed-amplifier ceramic capacitor with large capacity can measure the two electrodes of the capacitor with the resistance of the multimeter (R×1000). See the swing of the hands. The larger the swing, the larger the capacitance of the capacitor. If the test bar always touches the capacitor lead, the hand should be near the ,, otherwise, it indicates that the capacitor has leakage phenomenon, and the smaller the resistance value, the larger the leakage current, the worse the capacitor quality.

2. Connect the safety ceramic capacitor to the power supply. If the pointer of the multimeter does not swing at the instant of turning on, the safety ceramic capacitor is disabled or disconnected. If the hands indicate the supply voltage, but do not swing, the capacitor is shorted. If the needle swings normally, but does not return to the zero position, it indicates that the safety ceramic capacitor has leakage. Because the higher the indicated voltage value, the greater the leakage current.

3. When checking the quality of safety ceramic capacitors, for capacitors with lower withstand voltage, the resistance file should be placed in R×100 or R×1K, the red test lead is connected to the negative end of the capacitor, and the black test lead is connected to the positive end. At this point the multimeter pointer will swing and then return to near zero or zero, indicating that the quality of the capacitor is acceptable.

4. The auxiliary DC voltage used for the safety ceramic capacitor with small measurement capacity shall not exceed the withstand voltage of the capacitor under test to avoid damage to the capacitor breakdown due to measurement. To accurately measure the capacitance of a capacitor, a capacitor bridge or Q meter is required. The above simple detection method can only roughly judge whether the pressure gauge safety ceramic capacitor is good or bad.
