Do you know what a capacitor is? I believe that many people know and have seen that capacitors have brought us great convenience and can store electrical energy, such as charging treasures. There are also many kinds of capacitors. Let's talk about what pulse capacitors are, and hope to help you.

Introduction of capacitors

Two conductors that are close to each other, with a non-conductive medium sandwiched in between, constitute a capacitor. A capacitor stores charge when a voltage is applied between its two plates. The capacitance of a capacitor is numerically equal to the ratio of the amount of charge on one conducting plate to the voltage between the two plates. The basic unit of capacitance of a capacitor is the farad (F). Capacitive elements are usually represented by the letter C in circuit diagrams.

Capacitors play an important role in tuning, bypassing, coupling, filtering and other circuits. It is used in the tuning circuit of transistor radios, as well as in the coupling circuits and bypass circuits of color TVs.

With the rapid development of electronic information technology, the replacement speed of digital electronic products is getting faster and faster, and the production and sales of consumer electronic products such as flat-panel TVs (LCD and PDP), notebook computers, digital cameras and other products have continued to grow, driving the capacitor industry growth.

How are high voltage pulse capacitors different from ordinary capacitors?

There are two kinds of materials for high-voltage pulse capacitors: one is film type and the other is ceramic type.

Compared with  film type, ceramics have very high voltage characteristics. The advantage of film capacitors is that their capacity is higher than ceramic capacitors.

Commonly used pulse ceramic capacitors are PC ceramics. This ceramic capacitor with a dielectric constant of 400 can operate from -55 degrees to +125 degrees. The temperature change rate is less than 5%. It has super voltage characteristics and pulse characteristics. The current optoelectronic military equipment and electromagnetic pulse military equipment mostly use PC material. The pulse usage time is as high as more than 1 million times.

Of course, there are also experimental grade pulse capacitors. Many scientific research institutes choose N4700 ceramic materials as pulse capacitors. This kind of material can also meet the needs of users to a general extent, but if a large number of equipment is used, the use time is not enough. This product is used in the capacitor industry for about 3000 to 50000 pulses.

The dielectric constant of N4700 medium is between 1800 and 2000. The temperature range is between -25 degrees and +85 degrees, and the temperature change rate is about 20%.

Therefore, in the field of ceramic capacitors, PC pulse medium is the real pulse capacitor.

Three advantages of PC pulse capacitors

1. Pulse voltage: PC pulse capacitors have high voltage withstand capability, especially pulse high voltage withstand capability, which is unmatched by other capacitors. Generally, a 50KV pulse capacitor can withstand a pulse voltage of 80KV. This is also rare in the field of high voltage ceramic capacitors;

2. High and low temperature characteristics: PC capacitors can be used in relatively cold environments, such as minus 50 degrees, or in high temperature environments, such as high temperatures of 125 degrees;

3. Duration of pulse use: PC capacitors have high stability and can work for a long time within the rated voltage. Its pulse use time is more than 1 million times.

Pulse capacitor function

Due to the high stability of PC pulse capacitors, this pulse capacitor can be used in most high-tech military equipment. For example, electromagnetic guns, electronic jamming, radar equipment, communication launch, etc. There are also good applications in some civilian markets, such as laser cutting and other mechanical fields.

The above is the knowledge about pulse capacitors. I believe that after reading it, my friends will understand it very well. It has its advantages and functions. My friends will use it in the future. I wish you to buy a good pulse capacitor.
