As editors have told about the loss of film capacitors and the relationship between temperature and humidity. Today i want to talk about the loss and frequency of film capacitors. Film capacitors have losses during use, and the magnitude of the loss is affected by many factors. Let's find out together!

The so-called loss refers to the capacitor under the action of the electric field, the capacitor loses energy due to heat. The relationship between the loss and the frequency of the film capacitor is related to the dielectric polarity of the film capacitor. The polarity of the so-called film capacitor dielectric means that the atoms in the molecules of the capacitor dielectric have different abilities to attract electrons, so that different atoms in the molecule show different electrical properties. If the charge centers in the dielectric molecules coincide, the capacitor dielectric is non-polar. If not, the capacitor dielectric is polar.

If the dielectric of the film capacitor is polar, then in the range of low frequency and intermediate frequency of the capacitor, the loss of the film capacitor is mainly determined by the medium, and the loss in the high frequency range is mainly caused by the metal portion. If the dielectric used in the film capacitor is non-polar, then the loss of the film capacitor in the low frequency range is mainly caused by the dielectric loss of the medium, which is mainly caused by the metal portion at high frequencies.
