5.To control the operating temperature, it is generally required that the temperature of the hot spot of the shunt capacitor shell should not be greater than 60 ℃ under normal environment, otherwise, the cause must be found out and the treatment should be carried out.

6.Pay attention to inspect, check and protect the shunt capacitors regularly, at least once a quarter, mainly to check whether there are dust deposited in the shell of the capacitor, the porcelain casing, the installation support, and so on. And make a serious sweep. Inspection should pay special attention to whether the connection is firm, whether loose; whether the shell bulging, seepage (leakage) oil and so on. If the above phenomenon is found, the capacitor must be removed from operation and properly handled.
