Conversely, the leakage current of the electrolytic capacitor increases (the leakage resistance decreases). In this way, we first assume a very "+" pole, and the pointer type multimeter is R*100 or R*1K, then the assumed "+" is connected with the black pen of the multimeter, the other is connected with the red form of the multimeter, and the scale of the stop is recorded (the value of the needle is large). (for the digital multimeter, the readout can be read directly. . Then discharge the capacitor (two lead wires), then swap the two pens and re measure them. In the two measurement, the position of the last stop of the watch needle is on the left (or the resistance value is large). The black pen is connected with the positive electrode of the electrolytic capacitor.

One is a common tantalum capacitor, which is cuboid and has a "-" mark at one end. In addition, there is also a silver surface mount capacitor, presumably aluminum electrolysis. The above is round and the bottom is square, which is very common on the CD driver circuit board. This capacitor is marked with a "-" mark and the other end is negative.
